All The Right Moves

At TMT, we are solution oriented. We believe it is our job to help identify and address hindrances that cost our customers time and money.

For instance, while observing the yard operations of one of our clients, Campbell Soup Company, we noticed that they were moving many of their trailers great distances. It

occurred to us that some reorganizing might be in order to make things run more efficiently.

At our urging, we put together a study team consisting of our staff and Campbell’s staff. Together, we devised a plan to rearrange how trailers were placed in the yard, moving high volume trailers closer to the dock and those with low usage further away.

In addition to saving time, the customer experienced reduced vehicle costs, reduced emissions and reduced stress on its employees, who were now making more moves per hour but at greatly reduced distances.

*A move is defined as the process of moving a trailer from the dock to the yard or vice versa.
