A Moment’s Notice
For several years, we have partnered with Walgreens with their seasonal distribution needs. During the Christmas and Halloween seasons, we receive bulk shipments of everything from costumes and jack-o-lanterns to lights, trees and toys.
Each holiday season, we receive as many as 150 large cargo containers, both overseas and domestic. We warehouse the merchandise in full pallets and then ship it out to individual locations as needed, typically 700-800 cases per store.
This break bulk operation provides a much needed relief valve for Walgreens, as most of their distribution centers cannot handle the more than 200,000 square feet of merchandise we are warehousing for them.
Not only is our service is scalable – we can increase and decrease volume as necessary – it is extremely flexible. We understand that our customers need a service provider that can react to their needs quickly. We can assemble a labor force quickly, moving from “slow to go” in a matter of minutes.
For example, Walgreens also uses our warehousing for overflow storage. When they need product, such as Arizona Iced Tea which is a high volume item for them, we can have wheels under it within 30 minutes and back on their dock within 60 minutes.
